Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Outstanding location for sightseeing — Guests consistently praise the hotel's position for exploring Barcelona, with the Sagrada Familia within a 5-10 minute walk and the Monumental metro right outside. Many mention walking to the Gothic Quarter and other landmarks.
  • Soundproofed, comfortable rooms — Reviews note that rooms are comfortable and well-insulated from street noise, with effective blackout curtains. Several guests mention the quiet despite the central location, and some appreciated the city or terrace views.
  • Friendly and helpful staff — Many reviews single out the staff as welcoming, respectful, and efficient, with one guest noting the receptionist went out of her way to arrange cathedral tickets.
  • Good breakfast selection — Several guests highlight the breakfast as excellent, with a varied spread including fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, cheese, omelette, bacon, coffee, and desserts. Flexible payment on site is also appreciated.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Rooms and cleanliness rated lower — While many guests are satisfied, the 'Rooms and cleanliness' category scores 7/10, slightly below the hotel's overall rating. This may reflect inconsistencies in room maintenance or housekeeping standards.
  • Dining could be improved — The dining score is the lowest at 6/10, suggesting that the breakfast and other food options might not fully meet expectations for some travelers, despite positive individual comments.
  • Some rooms may feel warm — One reviewer mentioned the room was too warm and they had to open the window at night. This could be an issue in warmer months, though air conditioning is available.
  • Parking is available but not free — While there is parking on site, it is not marked as free, and guests might need to arrange it separately. This could be a consideration for those driving.

“Comfortable hotel with a good-sized room that included a work table, space for a suitcase, and an extra armchair. The bathroom had a shower with a comfortable screen, quality toiletries, and was very clean. From the upper floor, I could see the Sagrada Familia on one side and Diagonal on the other, and despite being central, I didn't notice any noise. This is a good hotel for work trips, which was my purpose. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I would stay again.”

“The hotel is next to the subway station, and the Rambla is about 10 minutes away by underground. It's quiet outside, yet you don't feel like you're in touristy Barcelona even though the Sagrada Familia is close. They gave us a room overlooking the Sagrada as we were told at check-in.”

“Nice staff, good breakfasts, and effective blackout curtains on the windows—relevant for light sleepers. Initially the street seemed noisy, but the windows block sound well. The location is excellent—central, with attractions within walking distance and the metro 200 meters from the entrance. The room was warm, sometimes too warm, so I opened the window at night. The bathroom was spacious. Breakfast offered fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, cheese, omelette, and bacon. You can pay for breakfast on the spot, which is convenient if you don't want it daily.”

“Convenient location with the metro on the doorstep, friendly and helpful staff, and clean rooms.”

“We had a very good experience. The staff were respectful from start to finish. Breakfast was excellent, with nice coffee, delicious desserts, and a tasty spread that had everything you need. Service was efficient, and having a carpark was a plus.”

“The hotel is near the Sagrada Familia, about a 10-minute slow walk. It's also close to the subway, and many places are reachable on foot, such as the Gothic Quarter, Plaza Catalunya, and the University—the Rambla is about 2-3 km away. The receptionist helped us get tickets to the cathedral; they weren't available on the site, so she bought them for us and even kindly sent them to the post office so we didn't have to return to the hotel.”
